Resilience coaching for burnout prevention

For managers who want to strengthen their inner resilience and flexibility in dealing with change in order to remain calm and efficient in the long term.

Background

Resilience coaching: confident and calm leadership

Do you often feel overwhelmed by the daily demands or increasing complexity?

You are not alone. According to the Job Stress Index 2022 around 30 % of the working population in Switzerland are under a critical stress level at which the demands exceed the available resources.

In resilience coaching, you learn to improve your self-awareness and self-management in order to better deal with pressure, change and high complexity as a manager. The coaching helps you to remain resilient in the long term and to act clearly, confidently and with focus in stressful situations. You strengthen your ability to create a stable and motivating working atmosphere, even in challenging leadership roles. At the same time, coaching helps to prevent burnout by developing strategies that help you to build resilience in the long term and strengthen your adaptability as a manager.

Contents

What topics can resilience coaching cover?

In resilience coaching, we focus on practical, everyday approaches to support you in overcoming professional and personal challenges. It is not about in-depth therapeutic work, but about developing concrete strategies to strengthen your resilience and flexibility in everyday life. The topics we can work on together include, for example

1. self-awareness and recovery

  • Focus: Recognizing stress signals and developing recovery strategies to regain inner balance.
  • Aim: To get back in touch with yourself and recognize stress at an early stage.

2. self-regulation and stress reduction

  • Focus: Practical techniques for calming down in stressful moments and effectively coping with acute stress situations.
  • Goal: Respond confidently to challenges and maintain an emotional balance.

3. adaptability and positive outlook

  • Focus: Developing flexibility in thinking and acting in order to react confidently to changes and challenges. Promoting a positive, solution-oriented mindset that makes it possible to seize opportunities even in difficult situations.
  • Objective: To build up adaptability and mental flexibility in order to react calmly to change and the ability to adopt an optimistic and solution-oriented attitude even in challenging situations.

4. strategies for acute leadership challenges

  • Focus: Developing practical, immediately implementable strategies for acute leadership situations. E.g. clear communication, conscious team management and sound decision-making.
  • Goal: Confident and solution-oriented leadership in stressful situations without burning out in the long term.

Test psychology

Progress measurement

If interested, it is possible to use a psychologically validated test to identify the topics to be worked on and to record the individual level of development in a well-founded manner. This makes it possible:

  • Overview of fields of action: At the start of coaching, the test can help to identify specific areas for action.
  • Targeted work: Based on the results, the coaching content is customized to strengthen the areas that are particularly relevant for burnout prevention.
  • Follow-up: The test can be used in the course of the coaching or again at the end to measure progress in the defined areas and to evaluate the effectiveness of the coaching.

Resilience is not about avoiding storms,

but dancing in the rain.

Who would accompany the resilience coaching?

In recent years, I have accompanied many managers on their way through burnout and in building resilience. I understand very well that many people are desperate, exhausted and overwhelmed at the beginning of this process - often unable to see the wood for the trees. With my experience as an organizational psychologist and coach, I offer empathetic and targeted support to help you find your way to more inner strength, clarity and well-being. I would be delighted to accompany you in this process too.

3. meetings

We get started and work on your individual goals. Between sessions, you implement the steps discussed and reflect on your progress.

4. follow-up

2 to 3 months after completion, we conduct a short follow-up meeting if necessary to reflect on successes and clarify any final questions.

Investment

Are you wondering how many sessions you need for your topic?
Sometimes a specific issue, such as decision-making, can be resolved in a single session. However, when it comes to issues such as behavioral or personal development, a coaching process lasting 6 to 12 months is recommended in order to achieve sustainable progress.
